Gerald is the original developer of the Wireshark open source project. He started the project in 1998 while working at an ISP. Since then many bright and talented people have contributed to the project, making it the world’s premier network protocol analyzer.
He currently works at Sysdig as the Director of Open Source Projects, and is the lead developer of the Wireshark project. In the past he has worked as a consultant for firms in a variety of industries, ranging from telecommunications to pharmaceuticals to finance. He is the recipient of several awards for his work on the Wireshark project, including the ACM Software System Award, the ISSA Hall Of Fame, and the UMKC Alumni Achievement Award.
